She specializes in uniting diverse stakeholders to quickly accomplish high impact outcomes.

Expertise



Brandi’s research expertise encompasses cardiovascular health, neurodegenerative disorders, oncology, genomics and cellular modeling, alongside cloud computing and bioinformatics. As a recognized leader in biomedical data interoperability and FAIR data analysis ecosystems, she’s led initiatives that connect over 14 petabytes of high-value biomedical data with advanced algorithms to accelerate life sciences research. Bridging science and technology, Brandi is passionate about driving adoption and improved outcomes with technology for scientists.

Prior experience



Prior to ZS, Brandi served as CEO and chief science officer at Seven Bridges (now Velsera), where she led development of a biomedical data analysis platform used by numerous NIH Institutes and top 20 pharma companies. Brandi also served as principal investigator and lead of multiple U.S. national data infrastructure programs, including a 10-year partnership with the NCI to build the Cancer Research Data Commons. She was a founding member of BloodPAC, a public-private partnership to support adoption of liquid biopsy diagnostic assays, and has served on numerous other government and non-profit advisory boards to promote the use of biomedical data in life sciences.

Education



Brandi holds a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Rochester, a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Tufts University and is a Fellow at Harvard University.
