Karthik has shaped multiple AI-driven commercial transformations in pharma to maximize product opportunity and enable holistic customer experiences.


Karthik leads ZS’s commercial AI practice and business insights and analytics practice. He is known for driving innovation in the space, including launch AI, AI-driven precision engagement and end-to-end next gen patient engagement. 


Karthik focuses primarily on the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, helping companies develop, evolve and implement AI-driven product marketing strategies, tactics and execution through the entire product life cycle. His expertise areas include using AI and machine learning to enable sharper opportunity identification and targeting, leveraging primary market research and other nontraditional data sources in AI and machine learning to enable more precise n=1 personalization, voice of patient AI and end-to-end patient support needs and intervention.

Prior experience

Before joining ZS in 2010, Karthik worked as a research scientist at IBM TJ Watson Research Center, where he led the development of award-winning applied operations research and decision support solutions for client engagements. He has filed multiple patents, published several high-quality journal articles and received multiple research accomplishment awards.


Karthik holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University with a specialization in operations research. He also holds a B.E. in mechanical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
