Ray is a core member of ZS’s R&D excellence team. He leverages his scientific training as well as industry experiences to support clients for clinical development and data management using advanced analytics as well as real-world evidence.
Ray developed a deep understanding in both preclinical research and clinical drug discovery through his 15-plus years of research experience. He started his ZS career in the San Francisco office and specialized in broad areas within the R&D space, including optimizing clinical trial design and operations based on data-driven insights and clinical opportunity assessments. He aims to provide end-to-end solutions to pharma clients in the clinical development space.
Prior to ZS, Ray was a post-doctoral research fellow in the department of neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. As a project leader for a government-funded initiative, Ray conducted preclinical studies on the identification of novel drug target for the treatment of autism spectrum disorders. He collaborated with multiple research laboratories at Stanford. Ray also has experience in the preclinical development of diagnostic tools—medical imaging in particular. He previously worked as a marketing consultant in evaluating market opportunities for patented portfolios.
Ray holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Georgia State University. He graduated at the top of his class from Shanghai University in China with a B.S. in bioengineering.
