As a leader in ZS’s R&D technology advisory capability, Sowmya guides clients in transforming their R&D functions across research, clinical, safety and regulatory domains. He also collaborates with clients to establish their technology and data strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and effective integration of emerging technologies into business processes.

Sowmya has over 20 years of experience in life sciences R&D, working at the intersection of business and technology. He has set up and grown R&D technology teams and has played roles ranging from product management, technology transformation, capability development, platform development, thought leadership and innovation.

Sowmya possesses extensive experience spanning both sponsor and technology consulting organizations. In his prior role as the lead for technology strategy, partnerships and innovation at Novartis, he developed cloud and data center transformations and forged strategic partnerships with leading enterprise partners.

Sowmya holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Science and a bachelor’s in engineering from Delhi University.
