Scott Sandford
Background and experience
Scott leads ZS’s R&D strategy and transformation practice area. His experience spans strategic initiatives across clinical supply chain, clinical development, regulatory and TA-specific concerns. Scott helps his clients expand the strategic impact of their data science and technology-related work.
Since joining ZS in 2014, Scott has gained broad experience leading teams in various pharmaceutical sales and marketing functions. These include incentive compensation design and administration, brand analytics, sales force sizing and geographic alignments and marketing mix studies. He also explores the close interlink between development and early commercial functions.
Scott also led the research for ZS’s explorer study, which provided industry-spanning quantitative benchmarks for sales force effectiveness investments. In addition to his role at ZS, he has also released several publications on the topics of R&D productivity and the shifting role of R&D professionals in an AI-enabled environment.
Scott came to ZS from Johnson & Johnson, where he worked in strategic financial analysis as part of the company’s finance leadership development program.
