Scott Shimamoto
Background and experience
Scott co-leads ZS’s discovery service line, advancing AI-driven science to accelerate drug discovery and R&D success, while championing inclusion and belonging across the firm. Scott is an executive sponsor of ZS’s Black and Hispanic Alliance, an employee resource group with a mission of building awareness of the Black and Hispanic ZSer perspective in ways that contribute to shared goals, relationships and stakeholder commitments. In addition, Scott serves on ZS’s Inclusion and Belonging Council.
Beyond leading significant areas of ZS’s business, much of Scott’s focuses on commercial operations excellence, where he has helped clients achieve significant efficiencies and improvement through streamlining and enhancing their analytic capabilities and operational processes. He has been a faculty member at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management executive education program and has presented at numerous industry conferences.
Scott serves on the Chicago board of directors for the Positive Coaching Alliance, a national nonprofit with a mission of transforming youth sports to provide a positive character-building experience for all young athletes.
Over his 25-year plus career, Scott has led many facets of ZS’s business, including practice areas, offices, capability groups and client relationships.
