Jess’s passion for digital value helps drive healthcare innovations

Over the course of her career, Principal Jessica Jarvis has always seen ZS as a data-oriented company.

“Many of the founders and leaders of ZS were doing AI before AI was cool,” she jokes.

Today, Jess leads our digital accelerator team, connecting strategy with data analytics and AI to scale through technology and develop digital solutions that drive behavior change in the marketplace.

Where passion changes lives

Jess started at ZS as an analyst right out of university. Throughout her career, she has worked on a wide variety of projects.

“I’ve had a lot of experience in data-oriented strategy, then got very entrenched in the patient journey,” she says. “I migrated toward drawing connections between AI and technology, human-centered design and customer experience. That brought me to the digital part of my journey—which is where I am now.”

Jess and her team are bringing together different parts of the business to demonstrate the value of digital through ZS’s Data Connects Us campaign.

The tagline refers to the network of information driving healthcare—and the ways ZS can help organizations harness that data to deliver better outcomes.

In a recent ZS survey, fewer than half of pharmaceutical executives said they believe their digital initiatives generate the value they expected. ZS is working to change that. With a commitment to innovating healthcare for all, and the latest roster of products and platforms like ZAIDYN®, ZS is focused on building end-to-end solutions that unlock the full value of data.

“Everything we do is in service of patients and driving improved global health outcomes,” Jess says. “That means developing innovative therapies and getting them to market faster. Through digital, we can drive that change by combining human insights with data-driven recommendations.”

Jess believes fully realizing AI’s potential means bringing it together with human creativity.

“I now have chairs in my kitchen that are AI-generated,” she says with a smile. A furniture designer wrote a creative brief, then used AI to generate the design. “They’re quite comfortable—and snazzy-looking,” she laughs. “What’s cool is that it wasn’t just AI or just the creative individual. It was the combination that created something powerful.”

The same holds true for Jess’s work at ZS. By integrating data-driven insights with human-centered design, Jess and her team help clients achieve meaningful transformation.

In one example, she helped a large biopharma company address pain points in the patient experience. Her team personalized interactions through digital channels—and helped instill a culture centered on the patient. The result: a client that now infuses the patient voice into decisions across clinical, medical, commercial and manufacturing functions.

Technology continues to evolve rapidly, and while breakthroughs emerge every day, there’s still much to explore. What sets ZS apart, Jess says, is the space we create for that exploration.
