Health benefits

Medical
Health insurance (LAMal/LaMal) is mandatory for all residents in Switzerland. You must choose a private insurer to provide your basic coverage and you are responsible for the premiums of the plan.
Accident insurance
Group Accident Insurance (UVG/UVZ) by OeKK provides income, medical, disability, and survivor benefits for work and non-work accidents or illness. Combined benefits are capped at 90% of salary.
Mental health support
ZSers and their immediate families have access to 24/7 emotional support through the Workplace Options Employee Assistance Program.
Pension, disability and life benefits
Occupational Insurance (BVG), Pension, Disability Benefit and Death in Service benefits are provided by AXA. They are paid in addition to social security benefits (first pillar benefits).

Family allowances
Eligible ZSers in Zurich may receive monthly family allowances to help offset child-related expenses, with benefits available until a child turns 25.
Advanced degree tuition support
ZSers with at least 36 months of tenure at the start of the program can apply for sponsorship to graduate studies.
Transportation pass
The GA travel card, or Generalabonnement, is a personal public transport pass that gives you unlimited travel across most trains, trams, buses and boats throughout Switzerland.
Charitable donation matching
ZS will match donations and volunteer time up to an annual maximum of 2,000 CHF per calendar year.

From the date of hire, full-time employees based in Switzerland will accrue 25 days of paid vacation annually.
Sick time
ZSers will receive up to 4 weeks paid sick leave a year.
Family and parental leave
ZS family leave program provides 10 weeks of paid time off for the birth or adoption of a child or the serious health condition of a family member.
Observed ZS holidays
ZS provides 10 paid holidays.
Maternity leave
To give ZSers time away from work in conjunction with the birth or adoption of a child, birth mothers are entitled to 14 weeks of maternity leave and 10 weeks of family leave.
Travel assistance
International SOS provides medical, security and logistical expertise to safeguard and support ZSers during business travel and during emergency situations like natural disasters.
Bereavement leave
Bereavement time varies based on the relationship to the individual who passed.
