In a time when professionals often change jobs every few years, it’s no surprise that Sarah Jegasothy has continued to grow her career at ZS since joining in 2005.

Where passion changes lives

Sarah has always been passionate about science. “I used to read ‘New Scientist’ magazine as a kid, and after studying biochemistry, I considered working in pharmaceutical consulting,” she recalls. Joining ZS felt like a natural fit. Our broad client portfolio allowed Sarah to explore diverse interests—growing from an associate in London to the office managing principal in Singapore.

“I’ve stayed for so long because of the people and the opportunity to grow,” Sarah says. “What has made ZS a fun place for my career is the flexibility to pivot and choose different areas to work in, depending on what’s happening in my life.”

ZS supported Sarah in trying a variety of roles and responsibilities. Early in her career, she focused on commercial challenges in pharma and medtech. After expressing interest in new areas, she transitioned into global health. With encouragement from her husband—a ZS alum—Sarah pursued a master’s in global health policy, which sparked a deeper interest in market access and pricing strategy.

“I was curious about how ZS could help organizations make better decisions and get new therapies to eligible patients,” she says. “Clients can develop the most incredible clinical innovations, but if patients can’t access them, then we haven’t succeeded.”

Through conversations with her PD coach and her growing interest in health equity, Sarah connected with a team working in market access and pricing.

“There are so many important issues in healthcare,” she says. “I like exploring how ZS can help solve them—and how we can help drive health equity.”

After building expertise in this area, Sarah was elected principal. With that role came further opportunities for leadership—and the chance to explore something new again. She relocated to Singapore to serve as office managing principal, a move supported by ZS to ensure a smooth transition for her and her family.

“This move has been incredibly rewarding,” she says. “I’ve had the chance to meet a new team, understand a different region and support clients across a wide range of challenges—both within and beyond market access.”

In her one-on-one meetings with team members, Sarah often emphasizes the importance of leading with curiosity and passion.

“Find out what excites you—and use that to guide your work. I like exploring different situations and tackling new challenges. Working at ZS gives me the space to do that every day.”
