Patients today are more empowered than ever to make informed healthcare decisions. As their healthcare influence grows—and they remain skeptical of treatment costs and mistrustful of the pharmaceutical industry—companies are gradually shifting toward patient centricity.

The industry’s treatment of patients needs to evolve from merely assigning ID numbers to including patients as active participants in their own healthcare. And with increasing complexity, cycle times and cost of clinical trials, it becomes even more imperative for pharmaceutical companies to put patients at the center of R&D.

In this article, ZS experts weigh in on the challenges of executing patient-centric initiatives and four strategies to overcome them.
