2023: ZS drives impact in healthcare and beyond

Here’s a look at the milestones in 2023 that reflect our growing impact and continued progress across healthcare, technology and society.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary

Since 1983, when Andy Zoltners and Prabha Sinha launched ZS as a healthcare consulting firm, we’ve grown into a global leader with 35+ offices and 13,000+ ZSers. Our mission remains the same: use data, science and empathy to transform healthcare and drive better outcomes worldwide.

We continued making a difference for clients and their customers through innovative solutions

Leveraging the power of data, science and technology, we helped clients design and deliver smarter healthcare solutions. Stories from the past year include:

• Planning reimbursement strategies for Parkinson’s monitoring
• Reinventing go-to-market strategies in agriculture
• Accelerating market access for a sleep apnea therapy
• Transforming sales incentive compensation for a leading biopharma company

We also launched ZS Discovery, a platform that helps clients reinvent R&D, interpret disease biology and develop breakthrough therapeutics—ultimately increasing the probability of clinical and commercial success.

We strengthened our network of premier partners, including an extended partnership with Informatica, and collaborated with industry leaders and subject matter experts on some of the year’s most pressing issues—from equity in healthcare systems to shifting the narrative around obesity and the critically important patient stories that remind us of our purpose.

Our privacy-enhancing technologies earned recognition from both the White House and the United Kingdom at the Summit for Democracy, and analyst firms Forrester and IDC named us among their top consulting providers.

We harnessed the power of AI through acquisitions, partnerships and products

Through acquisitions, partnerships and internal product development, we advanced the role of AI in healthcare innovation. Highlights included:

• Collaborating with the World Economic Forum on a report highlighting AI’s transformative potential
• Launching Trials.ai, an AI-powered tool for smarter clinical trial design
• Expanding our ZAIDYN® platform with ZAIDYN Connected Health—a solution suite that helps pharma companies, HCPs and payers engage patients and improve outcomes

We furthered our commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace

At ZS, we believe diversity drives innovation. In 2023, we advanced initiatives like:

• Path to Principal, a leadership development program for women in India
• The launch of the Stay Taskforce, focused on understanding and improving retention and belonging for underrepresented ZSers

We made progress across our business responsibility and impact (BRI) commitments

We published our first BRI report, documenting our efforts to advance health equity, empower our people, and operate sustainably and responsibly. We also:

• Earned a Silver rating from EcoVadis
• Had our emission reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

We continue to make our communities healthier places to live

ZSers worldwide gave back in meaningful ways:

• Over 1,600 ZSers across 31 offices volunteered during our annual ZS Cares Day, contributing 7,000+ hours
• In the U.S., we invested over $1 million in I&B and health equity initiatives
• In India, we partnered with nonprofits supporting 5,000 children and 16,000 individuals in healthcare and education—and planted 9,000 saplings as part of our climate action work

We expanded our reach and impact

From opening a new office in Noida, India, to launching an offshore development center (ODC) in Chennai with one of our top clients, we continue to grow. We also celebrated 1,200+ promotions this year—proof that ZS is a place where people can shape their careers and thrive.

We earned global accreditation for our work, culture and commitment to operating responsibly

ZS earned:

• ISO certification for psychological safety
• CMMI Maturity Level-3 certification for our technology team
• “Best Place to Work” honors from Built In, Fairygodboss, and Great Place to Work in India, the U.S., U.K., Germany and Switzerland
• Recognition from Avtar as one of the Top 10 Best Companies for Women in India
