In 2019, Kurt was named one of the nation's “top 25 consultants” by Consulting magazine for his client service.


As the firm-wide leader for marketing solutions, Kurt leads the creation of new services, develops leadership and teams to deliver those services, and works directly with clients on a wide range of issues in the pharmaceutical industry.




Kurt’s professional career has been focused on the pharmaceutical industry, with special expertise in portfolio strategy, clinical development, go-to-market strategy, positioning, segmentation and promotional optimization as marketing tools. He has presented to numerous industry meetings and trained clients on the use of quantitative methods in creating commercial strategies.



Prior experience

Before joining ZS as a principal in 2001, Kurt devoted a decade to consulting exclusively with pharmaceutical marketers, designing and conducting hundreds of engagements to develop fact-based marketing actions. For four years he also served a diverse set of clients as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.




Kurt holds a Ph.D. in applied statistics from Syracuse University and a B.A. in psychology (with honors) from La Salle University.
