Samrat is known for ensuring that theory meets reality when advising his clients.


Samrat opened ZS’s San Diego office, and his clients span a broad range of pharma/biotech and medical products industries. Samrat helps clients determine and implement optimal go-to-market strategy. He works closely with clients to design the right commercial organization and put systems in place to execute effectively.




Samrat currently leads ZS’s marketing execution practice area, which leverages analytics to generate the maximum return on marketing investments. This area includes product performance tracking, contracting analytics, customer-centric marketing operations, social media analytics and forecasting operations.


Samrat is actively engaged in commercial organization design and has extensive experience helping companies navigate through change. He also works with clients on incentives administration, data management and business intelligence.



Prior experience

Before joining ZS in 1998, Samrat was a research assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also spent 1.5 years at Strategic Marketing Corporation, a custom marketing research firm.




Samrat holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, an M.S. in manufacturing systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a bachelor of technology degree in manufacturing engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
