The challenge

A top-20 global pharmaceutical client reached out to us to develop a vision prototype designed to help mental health patients—particularly those with schizophrenia—and their families improve their lives in meaningful ways using digital health and virtual care.

Patients living with this complicated and difficult disorder are often overwhelmed and struggle with medication adherence. Many suffer from lack of motivation, inadequate support and denial of their diagnosis.

The solution

We defined the solution for healthcare practitioners (HCPs) and informal caregivers for central nervous system (CNS) patients. We also surveyed the CNS technology landscape for potential partners, conducting a process to interview and select finalists.

Then we developed a product road map from minimum viable product (MVP) to commercialization for planning and budgeting purposes. The result was a multidimensional mobile solution that leverages observations of daily living (ODLs) to help patients with schizophrenia and their caregivers cope with this complex and debilitating disorder.

The impact

Our solution was available in the U.S. market within two months. Those living with schizophrenia and their caregivers could rely on a long-term digital solution that offers a coping companion and a resource to help them improve their day-to-day activities and life outcomes.
