Martin has led and delivered many large, complex, multicountry global engagements spanning sales, marketing and business technology strategy and implementation.



Role



Since joining ZS in 2005, Martin has worked in ZS’s London, Zurich, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, where he has developed therapeutic area expertise in HCV, diabetes, NASH and psoriatic arthritis.

 

Martin leads ZS's creative and design (C&D) practice, providing clients full-service advertising and creative communication services. The team works closely with clients to enrich business strategy with a human-centered perspective and creativity. Martin helps clients to understand customer needs and preferences to create products and services that deliver value. 

 

His marketing work includes launch readiness, segmentation, positioning, opportunity assessment, marketing mix optimization, message testing, detail aid testing and brand tracking. His sales work includes sales force effectiveness, size/structure/alignment, call planning, segmentation and CRM.

 

Expertise



Martin has significant global program management experience and has delivered many complex, multidimensional projects with global scope: For example, he spent 18 months seconded in-house to a major pharma client, where he was the business director responsible for the successful rollout of the firm’s strategic sales force effectiveness initiative to 10,000 reps in 22 countries.

 

He has also delivered many global marketing research initiatives that have included Europe, America and Asia in their scope. 

 

 

Prior experience



Before ZS, Martin worked for PwC as a consultant specializing in customer relationship management strategy and implementation. He also worked as an innovations manager for SAP in a team reporting SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner.

 

 

Education



Martin has an MBA from the Haas School of business at the University of California, Berkeley. He also has a B.A. (with honors) and M.A. in German and linguistics from Oriel College at Oxford University.
