ZSers boldly go where innovations pave the way for client success and better outcomes. Our deep technical expertise, matched by a passion for discovery, positions ZS to harness AI and customize solutions for clients. This drive for excellence was reflected in one of our latest events. Senior human resources associate Reena Kalra was among the 4,200-plus ZSers in India celebrating gen AI week, an immersive creative learning experience designed to empower ZSers to set the pace in this evolving frontier.
Where passion changes lives
“Gen AI is not just a new trend. It’s a necessity. We all need to understand it and know how to use it,” says Reena, who began her ZS journey in 2019 as an independent contractor. Since accepting a full-time position at ZS, she’s also enjoyed being part of the talent development team managing ZS’s learning academies, skill-building boot camps and manager milestone programs, as well as New to ZS, the firm’s signature onboarding program for incoming ZSers.
Gen AI week is among Reena’s most recent efforts to inform and inspire. “The main motivation was to elevate our mindset, to cultivate awareness and capacity in adopting AI tools through creative exploration and social learning,” she says.
Principal Arun Shastri set an inspirational tone for the week with a leadership lens talk fitting the contours of ZS culture and ambition that put a spotlight on curiosity, empathy and discipline and new ways of working with AI. Gen AI week featured hands-on workshops, leadership sessions, contests and hackathons, inviting ZSers to exchange ideas and tap into their entrepreneurial spirit in exploring practical applications.
A true community of innovators, over 680 ZSers at all levels gathered to create solutions for AI challenges, using advanced technologies like Microsoft Copilot and Alter Igo, ZS’s very own gen AI tool. More than 950 contestants tested their skills in a prompting hackathon, and 34 project teams showcased use cases to ZS leadership in a gen AI arena. Attendees also shared more than 40 stories on productivity hacks and client impact during an open mic session.
The participant responses clearly show ZS’s interest and investment in gen AI: 96% found the workshops relevant for personal productivity gains and client impact, and 92% of gen AI arena participants found the use cases valuable for implementation. The event’s success has prompted the planning of future possibilities in best practice knowledge sharing, such as gen AI immersion programs for clients.
“It’s exciting to bring ZSers together to gain a firsthand understanding of the transformative capabilities around gen AI and what’s happening in today’s world,” says Reena. “This is a tremendous gateway that allows us to tangibly embrace the future today and harness the power of gen AI to shape a better world for all.”
